"Who are you?" - You
Ben, a Graphic Artist and Designer based in Ireland. I've been a professional designer for over 5 years now. I'm passionate about print and digital design especially when it's supported by great illustration and animation. - Me
"What are your strengths?" - You
I thrive working in new mediums. I like to think of myself as flexible that way. I enjoy getting involved in the nitty gritty, stepping away from the computer, and getting my hands dirty. Then coming back in and really refining the work. I like to take risks, and try not to use the same solution twice meaning I am always chasing new tools & mediums in my craft. I'm great with communication and have supportive working relationships with all my clients. - Me
"Why should we hire you?" - You
Have you read all those strengths? - Me
"What are your weaknesses?" - You
Well it took me far too long to come up with these answers. - Me
"What are your creative capabilites?" - You
I've created full brand identity systems, rolled out print campaigns, logos, flyers, letterheads, business cards, signage, and all the other essentials brands need. Wireframed, built, and coded websites from artisanal portfolios and contact points to full e-commerce sites.
I've hand-drawn animations, rigged and keyframed modern CG with After Effects, Rive, and Blender, and created programmed animation using CSS and Cavalry. And to wrap it up I've illustrated a full webcomic, poster graphics and worked with world famous comic artists on promotional illustration and I am always excited about projects in fields I haven't interacted with before. I even once hand-painted magnetic signage for a local children’s backpack charity so I’m really there for anything. - Me
"How do you deal with high pressure situations" - You
(Coffee) - Me
"Who is your dream client?" - You
Someone who approaches their project with lots of enthusiasm, trusting me with their design needs while letting me know they like and dislike. Clients who are open to taking creative risks and who's want to work with me to deliver exceptional work.
But other than that, I'm not looking for a client of a specific size or from a certain industry. I’ve worked with giant, multinational corporations and one person start-ups, telecoms firms, soap makers, restaurants, jewellers, personal fitness coaches, wholesalers, croissant bakers, and opticians. - Me
"What are your rates?" - You
I estimate for each project based on the scope of the work. If you Email me, or fill out a contact form, I can put together an estimate - Me
"What questions haven't I asked you?" - You
You didn't ask about my love of cooking, my obsession with the Concorde plane, or the names of my two cats, my hobbies (climbing, surfing, reading and improv comedy to name a few). But I hope we can get to that and more when we start working together - Me
"Ok perfect! That concludes this kind of serious fake interview. I'll be in touch soon." - You
Sounds Good! thanks for taking the time to read this silly old thing and I look forward to hearing from you. - Me
